A stunning vintage early 1950's gown for proms and special occasions, in decadent black and red floral patterned jacquard which has a subtle sheen in the light.
Elegant full length evening dress with wide shawl collar, gathered at the centre (add a rhinestone brooch here for extra glitz), long sleeves tapering in towards the wrist with popper fastenings and ruched elbows, and bust/waist darts for shape. Original self fabric buckle belt at the waist, and metal side zip fastening.
Wonderful full skirt, with a multi-layered pleat detail from the back of the waist, fanning out to the hem (see second close-up picture).
A beautifully made and very elegant early fifties gown.

In super condition overall, just evidence that two tiny darts have been taken out at the waist on very close inspection. Unlabelled, probably dressmaker made gown.
