This suit was beautifully made in the 1960's by a talented Saville Row tailoress.
In superb quality black crepe, the suit consists of a sleeveless dress and matching jacket.
The dress has a wide neckline, bust and waist darts for shape, tapered-in waist and straight skirt. It is trimmed around the neckline with black crochet lace flower appliques, and above the hem with glam corded braid. It fastens at the back with a metal zip.
The jacket has crochet lace flowers at the rounded neckline and around the bracelet-length sleeves to match the dress. It is a box shape with bust darts and covered button and loops to fasten down the front. It is fully lined in black acetate fabric.
Very elegant, chic and classic outfit, which will look great with a flamboyant hat for special occasions or Goodwood Revival!
