Notes on buying vintage:

Whenever purchasing a vintage item expect some natural wear and flaws – due to age, wear and storage even an unworn or unused item is rarely 100% immaculate! However we check all items very carefully and will do our  best to note any flaws or damage - we take pride in our reputation for providing the very best quality vintage items.

Please be aware that colour accuracy cannot be guaranteed on the internet. Colour representation can vary on different computer monitors. Candy Says tries to compare colours of garments with the photo on our monitor, but as monitors vary, please bear this in mind if you require a specific shade of garment. Feel free to ask any questions before buying!

Clothing

Vintage clothing sizes can differ greatly from standard sizes today, so Candy Says provides the actual measurements of each item. If you are unsure about the fit of an item on the site, the easiest way to tell how it will size up is to compare the measurements to those of an item of clothing you already own that fits you well. Please ensure that you check the measurements of items before you buy to avoid disappointment! Measurements are taken from the outside of the item, with the garment laid flat. Remember to allow approximately one inch on top of your actual measurements to move around and breathe inside the clothing!

Plus sizes

The plus size section generally contains items which, when fitted at the bust, measure 42" and over, or when fitted at the waist, measure 36" and over. All items will be approx a UK 18 or over by today's standards but please check all measurements carefully before purchasing. Some items will have been carefully pinned during photography to show how the clothing will fit on the right size body. Items contained in the plus size section will also be in the main categories, but this section puts them all in one place for you so you don't have to search for them!
