A fantastic chance to own a beautiful original vintage 1940's ladies tailored skirt suit, fashioned in smart black wool with flattering pinstripes.
The jacket is a very chic double-breasted design with long notched lapels, and four buttons to fasten at the waist. Lovely design with straight cut to the front, and slightly shaped tapered-in back with a chevron pocket at each hip. The sleeves are decorated with two little buttons each, to match the waist buttons.
Labelled "Jessops Ladies Tailors" at the back of the neck. Fully lined in dusky pink rayon fabric.
The matching skirt is a sleek, classic 1940's mid-calf length, with popper fastenings to the side, mock belt detail waistband and darted hips with two stitched down pleats to the front each side, which open out from the knee to hem.
Ideal for Goodwood Revival, re-enactments and other forties events.

Comments

Over all in very good vintage condition. REcently professionally dry cleaned. Some slight markings to the lining inside at the armpits of the jacket. There are a few tiny holes in the skirt but these are only really evident on close inspection and considering the age of this suit it has survived extremely well!
