Stunning vintage evening dress by Jean Varon (John Bates) dating from the 1970s, in reams of deep cranberry watered moire taffeta!
Frilled trim around the square neckline, which is decorated with thousands of tiny matching pearlescent cranberry/pink shimmering sequins. Widely flared from the neckline to the hem, for a sensational swishing effect!
Long sleeves, padded at the shoulders, gently tapering in to the wrists, which are trimmed with frills to match the neckline, and fasten with metal zips.
Labelled Jean Varon. Metal zip to the centre back.
best fit approx a modern UK 12
measures 59" long
widely flared shape, loose fit to hem
In superb condition over all - just a couple of slightly popped seams to the armpits (an easy fix) and a little 2cm area of missing sequins to the right neckline. Definitely a dress to turn heads in, and a covetable British boutique label. You are unlikely to find another decent Jean Varon gown for under £200!
